MUSIC FOR WEDDINGS
Monaco Strings have performed at over five hundred weddings in London and the South-East. Venues include The Dorchester, Claridges, Eltham Palace, Cambridge Cottage, Pembroke Lodge, Chilston Park and Eastwell Manor. They can perform as either a quartet or a trio, depending on your budget and the size of your venue.
Civil Ceremonies and Receptions
The standard booking is for three hours (to include two short breaks). This time period would cover the civil ceremony, drink's reception and early part of the wedding breakfast.
The girls would start by playing background music as your guests arrive, to set the appropriate ambience. They would then perform during the entrance of the bride, the signing of the register and as the bride and groom leave the room.
Music for the civil ceremony is entirely up to you. A suggested list of suitable repertoire is listed below but you are of course able to choose your own favourite piece of music. The only stipulation is that music for a civil ceremony must not have any religious connotations. Also, if Monaco do not already possess the music within their repertoire, a small charge will be made to cover the cost of the sheet music/arranging. The full list of their repertoire is available on this site.
For the drink's reception, Monaco have a wide variety of classical, folk, light and popular repertoire to suit a wide variety of ages and tastes. The girls are more than happy to play outside during the drink's reception but the weather must be fine and they will need to have sufficient shading to avoid damage to their instruments.
Monaco play regularly for church weddings. They can perform with or without an organist and other musicians such as a trumpeter or vocal soloist, accompanying hymns and/or playing for the processional, recessional and signing of the register. Please feel free to contact us regarding repertoire.
